Lesson 1 - Emissions Inventory Overview

This section provides a brief overview on emission inventories (EIs). This web course is designed for people who have background training in emission inventories. If you are not clear about the information in this section or are not sure why it is important, we recommend that you take an introductory EI course. The EPA's Air Pollution Training Institute (APTI) provides a free Introduction to EI web course that can be accessed at www.epa.gov/air/oaqps/eog/course_format.html. The APTI web course can provide the foundation of knowledge required for the TEISS web course.

  • Know the definition of emission inventory (EI).

  • Know the most common reasons for completing an EI for Native American Reservations.

  • Know the different levels of EIs

  • Know the 4 basic source types included in EI
