TEISS comes with a default user profile with a Username: Administrator and Password: Teiss. If you would like to personalize your username and password you can add a user to your project that identifies you personally. Having a user name that identifies you will also help track that you entered the information into the project in the future, instead of an anonymous "Administrator."
To add a user select File: Administration: Define Groups/Users. In the Users tab of the window that opens, click on the Add User button. This will open a window where you can enter your name, username and a password of your choice. Click OK when you are done. Next time you log in to your project, you can use your own username and password.

TEISS is built to run on a single computer, not a network. If two people are working on a TEISS project, it is easiest if the project is stored on one computer and whenever some one wants to work on the project, they log in to that computer.
Sometimes it is more convenient for a tribe to have TEISS installed on several people's computers so they can open, view and edit the project on their own computers. If this is the case, you can save a back-up of the TEISS project on a network drive. When anyone wants to work on the project, they must copy the project down from the network drive on to their computer, unzip it and then open it in the TEISS version on their computer. After making changes to the project, the user creates a back-up zip file and saves it back to the network drive so others in the tribe can copy it down to their computers when they need it. If this method is used, it is critical that each person working on the TEISS project notifies the others when they make changes. You want to avoid having two people making changes at the same time on two different copies of the project. There is no good way to copy data from one project to another. |
TEISS Exercise: Add a username and password for yourself to your TEISS project.
