Lesson 14 - On-Road Mobile Sources

This section will cover how on-road emissions are estimated. On-Road Mobile source emissions can be difficult to estimate for reservations for several reasons which will be covered in this presentation. If you choose to estimate on-road mobile source emissions for your reservation, or if you just want to estimate road dust emissions, you will need to calculate vehicle miles traveled (VMT) on your reservation. How to calculate VMT will be described.

Learning objectives for this session:

  • Describe how on-road mobile source emissions are calculated.

  • Define vehicle miles traveled (VMT) and know how to calculate VMT

  • Describe three possible options for getting on-road mobile source emissions for your reservation.
