A blank screen will appear with the icons New and Open active in the tool bar at the top of the screen. Select New.

A dialogue box will come up asking where you would like to store your project. It is recommended that you store your project in a folder on your 'C:\' drive. Create a new folder on your 'C:\' drive named "MyTribes_EI", or another name that is meaningful to you, by clicking the New Folder icon with the star in the upper portion of the dialogue screen. Open the folder you just created, choose a name for your project and click Save.
!!NOTE: DO NOT store your project in the C:\TEISSVw folder, this folder is replaced when a new version of TEISS is installed.

The New Project Wizard screen opens up, and asks you to define the year you are interested in creating an emissions inventory for, type in 2002 and click Next.

You are now asked to define what state and tribe you are interested in creating an inventory for. Scroll down to your state, and check the box to its left.
You can now select your tribe by selecting the Select Tribes (##) button. Uncheck all but the tribe you are interested in. Click OK.

The last screen in Creating a New Project allows you import your state's Class I air sheds, major road system, and also start your Inventory Preparation Plan. Keep all the Class I air sheds and major road system boxes checked and click Finish. Do not check the Inventory Preparation Plan (IPP) box, we will use the IPP Wizard in a later module.

The Login screen will appear. The default project User ID and password are set by Lakes Environmental, later we can define new User ID's and passwords, but for now:
User ID: administrator
Password: Teiss
NOTE: The password is Case Sensitive, the "T" must be capitalized.

After entering the User ID and Password, TEISS will work for a little while setting up your project's data tables and maps. Once it is done, you will see the main TEISS Interface, including a map of the reservation and state boundaries you selected in the New Project Wizard.

You have now started a TEISS project for your reservation!
