Lesson 4 - Inventory Preparation Plans (IPP)

4.3 - Getting started on your IPP

TEISS contains an IPP wizard that will help you get started. You can use the materials that you prepared for previous exercises to kick-start your thinking.

What is the scope of your inventory?
Turn In exercise TURN IN: 1a and 3a.

What are the end uses of your inventory?
Turn In exercise TURN IN 1b and 1c.

Strategy for data collection and management?
Turn In exercise TURN IN 3b.

As we mentioned in the overview of this lesson, be sure to work closely with your EPA project officer as you develop your IPP or Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP). ITEP has found that EPA requirements for what is included in an IPP or QAPP vary from region to region. One way to get started is to go through the TEISS IPP wizard quickly, then supply it to your EPA project officer as a draft or an outline and ask for guidance on how to proceed.
