Lesson 4 - Inventory Preparation Plans (IPP)

4.4 - TEISS IPP Wizard Exercise

This exercise will consist of working through the IPP wizard in TEISS. The questions the TEISS IPP Wizard asks will help guide you through the process of developing your EI. We suggest that you first look quickly through the entire wizard to get an idea of what is needed. Then start back through it one section at a time, adding the requested information. For more information on sources of existing data, see Lesson 7. For more information on EI QA/QC procedures, see Lesson 13.

Launch TEISS and open your project. You will see the IPP button on the main toolbar. Click on the IPP button to open the wizard.

As you develop your methods and become more aware of sources and concerns of air pollution on and around your reservation, enter these into your IPP. The IPP has a number of screens and categories, the Help button in the lower left hand corner will provide more detailed information on the various screens. There are two ways to progress through the IPP wizard. The first is to click the Next button at the bottom right side of the IPP Wizard. The second is to use the Navigation drop-down list at the top of the Wizard. This allows you to go directly to the sections that you want to work on.

You can cut and paste information from other documents (for example the overview information) and paste it into the IPP Wizard. When you reach a stopping point, click Save and Exit to save the IPP.
To access your IPP at a later time, click on the IPP button on the TEISS Toolbar to access the latest version of your IPP.

ITEP has several examples of IPPs for reservations in our Tribal Documents Library, which can be accessed through our Resource Information Center (RIC). To find the EI documents, search RIC for Tribal Documents, then select Emission Inventories RIC will instruct you to email an ITEP employee to get the documents you are interested in.
