This section describes the U.S. EPA's National Emission Inventory (NEI) and discusses other possible sources of existing EI information for your area.

Learning objectives for this session:

  • Know what the NEI is and what it is used for.

  • Describe what tribal data is currently available in the NEI.

  • Describe what role tribes can play in developing and maintaining the NEI.

  • Describe the benefits for a tribe of supplying tribal data to the NEI.

  • Know the pros and cons of tribal participation in the NEI.
