This section provides an introduction to the Case Study 1 that is in the TEISS Training Course manual. If you do not have a copy of this manual, you can find it linked to the Introduction for this web course. Although Case 1 is designed around adding sources to a county, the information on how to add sources is the same that you will use to add sources to your reservation.
Adding sources to your project is where you will begin to build your reservation's EI. In previous sections, you took a look at what the NEI and other sources had in their inventories, you will use the skills you learn in this section to develop your reservation's EI. Although the Lakes Environmental manual is built around a county example, it is the easiest way we know to guide you through the process of adding sources step-by-step.
Learning objectives for this session:
- Know basic rules and guidelines for how to save your TEISS project.
- Know how to add point and area sources to a TEISS project
- Know how to import NONROAD and OnRoad model results into a TEISS project.
- Know how to add a fire source to a TEISS project
- Describe how fire is a special kind of source type
- Know how to use TEISS to validate and export your data for NEI submission
This section is composed of some reading to introduce you to concepts and functions of TEISS, followed by completing exercises in Case Study 1 by following along in the Lakes Environmental Training Course manual.
