In recognition of the need for robust information security programs at Arizona’s three universities, the Arizona Board of Regents previously allocated funds to purchase a suite of scanning applications to be used by the universities’ information security departments. The RFP process has been completed and two of these tools have been delivered.
These applications will help us proactively to:
Scan the campus network and servers for known vulnerabilities.
Scan NAU’s commercial and in-house developed web applications to detect possible vulnerabilities.
Conduct penetration tests to confirm these vulnerabilities and assist in their removal.
The implementation of the first two applications is underway. Once they are fully implemented, they will provide another toolset for proactively identifying and responding to potential vulnerabilities in our network, systems, and services. This is one more aid toward achieving our goal of preventing the exposure of sensitive information, corruption of data, or disruption of services at NAU.
