ITE (Multi-line digital phone)

If you have a telephone that has aCONF feature button, use these instructions.

You may conference up to 6 parties on 1 call.  It is recommended that no more than 4 parties are external. At least one NAU system user must remain in the conference call at all times.

  • Call the first party; ask them to hold while you add additional parties
  • Press the conf button; listen for dial tone and key in the number of the person you want to add.
  • Announce the conference, press the conf button again - all parties are connected.
  • Repeat these steps to add additional parties.
  • If the number called is busy or unanswered, hang up then lift the receiver and press the conf button.  You will be connected with original party or conference members.
  • To place the conference on hold, lift the handset, listen for dial tone, press "CONF" button, listen for dial tone and hang up.  To return to a conference on hold, lift the handset, listen for dial tone, press conf button - you are reconnected to the conference.
NOTE: An ITE user must remain in the conference.   This would be a multi-line telephone like you are using.

ITE 4 (Single line) Digital Phone

Allows up to six parties to be joined in one call. It is recommended that no more than three parties be external (for best transmission).

Begin from dial tone:

  • Dial first party, announce conference
  • Press the [ACCESS] feature button and #1
  • Dial next party, announce conference
  • Press the [ACCESS] feature button and #1
(All parties joined in conference; repeat steps to add parties)

To rejoin conference if called number is busy/unanswered;

  • Hang up, then lift handset; you will hear dial tone.
  • Press #1

NOTE:>An ITE user must remain in their conference. This would be a digital telephone like you are using.


Polycom soundstation speakerphone

You may conference up to 6 parties on 1 call. It is recommended that no more than 4 parties be external.At least one NAU system user must remain in the conference call at all times.

  • Call the first party; ask them to hold while you add additional parties. Press the flash button. “Enter” is repeated 3 times. You will get dial tone.
  • Press # 1. Present call is held - dial tone returned.
  • Key in telephone number of party you wish to add.
  • Announce conference.
  • Press the flash button. “Enter” is repeated 3 times. You will get dial tone.
  • Press # 1.  All three parties are connected.
  • Repeat above steps to add up to 6 parties.

NOTE: If you get a busy signal or voicemail, press the off button. Then press the on button. You may then either dial the next number, or press the flash button to return to your original conference.


STE phone (single line analogue phone)

  • Call the first party; ask them to hold while you add additional parties.
  • Press the switch hook. "Enter" is repeated 3 times. You will get dial tone.
  • Press # 1. Present call is held - dial tone returned.
  • Key in telephone number of party you wish to add.
  • Announce conference.
  • Press the switch hook. "Enter" is repeated 3 times. You will get dial tone.
  • Press # 1.  All three parties are connected.

Repeat above steps to add up to 6 parties.

The switch hook buttons are located where you normally hang up the handset.


Meet Me Conference

What Is It?The Meet Me Conference feature allow up to 12 parties either on-campus or off-campus to call into a single telephone number and be joined in a conference call. People calling in from long distance locations will pay their normal long distance charge.

How Does It Work? The first person to call into the conference will hear the ringing sound until the second party calls in.  When the second party is connected, the first caller will hear a beep and the ringing sound will stop. The first and second party will be connected and may begin talking.  Each time a new party enters the conference, the parties already talking will hear the beep.

Schedule A Meet Me Conference

Call the Solution Center at x31511 to schedule the date and time you will be using the Meet Me Conference. The Solution Center will provide the telephone number you will call for the conference.

NOTE: You can not use the HOLD or TRANSFER feature with Meet Me Conference.

Schedule An 800# Meet Me Conference

If you prefer to not have any of your caller's pay for their own call to the conference, you may schedule the toll free number. Your agency/orgn will be billed $75.00 per hour (one hour minimum). Submit a MAC form requesting the 800# Meet Me Conference. Provide the date and time you will be using this service. Provide the agency/orgn that you want this call billed against.


AT&T Conferencing Options

If a teleconference  exceeds the numbers allowed with our campus systems, AT&T has teleconferencing services to meet any needs.

Call AT&T Teleconferencing Service at 800 232-1234 to obtain charges and schedule the conference.
