The following groups assisted
with the installation of the new radio system:
The new communication system will allow
for much better coverage on campus, including the tunnels on north campus
as well as some areas on the south campus. The system also permits several
different departments on campus to have their own talk groups setup with
various options.
The radios we are standardizing on at NAU
include the LTS
2000 and the GTX
The GTX and MTX 8000 both have Privacy Plus which is designed primarily
for commercial use, i.e telephone technicians, facilities management,
etc. The LTS 2000 uses Smartnet which is recommended for Public Safety
departments.
