There are several things you should consider before switching telephone and voicemail service.
When you switch to Enterprise Voice, the Microsoft Office Communicator client on your computer's desktop becomes your primary phone. While it is very convenient that your telephone is integrating with your computer for advanced features of unified messaging, there are some serious considerations you must be aware of.
If your computer is down, your phone service and 911 calling capability is also down. You should locate a desk phone to make your call.
If the electricity is out, your phone service and 911 calling capability is also out. You should locate a desk phone to make your call.
Enterprise voice is not available for the Macintosh. IRIS Unified Messaging is available for all platforms, however, if you use a Macintosh, you may need to install audio codecs to listen to voicemail on your computer.
Transferring voicemail to people using traditional phones is not possible.
