Student Health Tip

Healthy Holidays
Pumpkin pie, cookies, eggnog, and other family specialties often come to mind when we think of holiday meals. Treats can be an enjoyable part of family traditions and, with some pre-holiday planning, you can also include some new dishes that may help your family stay healthy during this season.

Be sure to include nutritious, lower calorie options. Try fruit and vegetable trays, which add flavor, phyto-nutrients, vitamins, minerals, and fiber. If you are looking for healthy recipe suggestions, check out FoodFit.com and VegWeb.com. (We do not endorse products sold at these sites.)

To release holiday stress and burn through the calories, plan family times that include physical activity. Taking walks, hiking and enjoying other activities with relatives can be memorable holiday experiences.
