Deadline for spring commencement

Your student’s name will only appear in the spring commencement program if his/her application for graduation is complete and has been reviewed by his/her college. The colleges should submit all completed graduation applications to the Registrar’s Office by February 10, 2009.

Student Health Tip

Resolve to refuel in the morning
Mom was right! Breakfast IS the most important meal of the day.

A healthy breakfast is the best way to start the day. Breakfast provides energy for the mental and physical requirements your student needs to work and feel his/her best - if the right items are eaten.

Breakfast should contain healthy sources of carbohydrates, lean proteins, and fiber. These types of foods take longer to digest and will leave your student feeling full longer, unlike sugary cereals, syrups, pastries, and white breads.

Sugary items first thing in the morning or skipping breakfast entirely can lead to energy crashes during class and cravings for pick-me-up foods, sweets, and coffee. These crashes tend to cause irritability and over-eating, which in turn, can affect study habits.

Make sure your student is getting the morning fuel to help his/her mind and body perform. This health tip brought to you by NAU Campus Dining.
