Employment fair a huge success
Over 2,000 students attended the Student Employment, Volunteer, and Student Organization Fair on August 24. Eighty on-campus departments, off-campus companies/volunteer agencies, and student clubs were present, giving students many opportunities to get involved.

If your student is still looking for a job, encourage them to access on-campus job listings through Gateway Connects.

Family Weekend in three weeks
If you haven't already, make plans to join us for Family Weekend, October 3–5. An event schedule and order form are available online, and lodging reservations are recommended since it is expected to be a busy weekend in Flagstaff. Discounted local lodging options are available.

Family Weekend highlights include:

Sunday: Family Weekend Brunch

You are invited to volunteer with the
Parents' Association
Are you interested in volunteering at one or more of our fall 2008 NAU information sessions for high school juniors and seniors? Our parents serve as hosts during the event, assist with guest check-in, and share their experiences with potential students and their parents. For more information please contact Dianna Van Sanford.

Student health tip: benefits of daily exercise
We all know that exercise does more than improve physical fitness. Both you and your student can share these benefits of exercise:

Did you know exercise...
     improves your mood
     combats chronic and hereditary diseases
     helps manage your weight
     strengthens your heart and lungs
     promotes better sleep
     reduces stress
     promotes positive social interactions

The Recreation Center offers all of these benefits and more. This tip was provided by Campus Recreation Services.
