Employee Assistance and Wellness Retirees Benefits
The Employee Assistance and Wellness (EAW) office at Northern Arizona University provides opportunities
to enhance individual and organizational well-being. A variety of services are offered to help members
of our employee and retiree community address personal and professional issues, assist with life and work
balance, and enhance optimal health and well-being.
As an NAU retiree, we want to let you know the services available to you through the NAU EAW office.
Retirees on the NAU Blue Cross Blue Shield plan are eligible for the services outlined below.
Retirees enrolled in state health insurance plans are eligible to attend Wellness Workshop Series
programs.
Wellness at Work Program offers flu vaccines and health
screenings that focus on early detection and prevention of heart disease and diabetes.
Additional screenings offered include mammograms and skin cancer screenings. This program is co-sponsored
with the NAU Fronske Health Center.
Wellness Workshop Series offers a wide range of seminars and activity classes
focused on health, nutrition, family, relationships, and personal and professional growth.
Customized workshops are developed on request for departments and groups.
Topics include: team development, communication, healthy work climates, and managing stress.
Short-term counseling and consultation is offered for work-related and personal
issues. All participants on the NAU BCBS plan also have access to counseling services through
Arizona Biodyne. To request services, please call Biodyne at 1-800-224-2125.
Information and referrals are provided to campus and community resources.
