Frequently Asked QuestionsCan you give me information on homesite survey? Yes, we conduct homesite surveys for the Navajo Nation. There is a flat rate fee of $275 + tax payable by money order. As of January 2004 there is a 1.5% Navajo Nation Tax added to the fee bringing it to $279.13. Groups of two or more within 5 miles of each other receive a discount. You will have to fill out a Formal Request form. You can download one here, call us or come in so we can send you a packet or you can pick one up. We will also need a copy of the Tract Description or map sent to you by the Navajo Nation Land Dept. We also need a hand drawn map to your homesite. The Land Dept. will also have to stake the homesite before we survey. So the four things we need are:
Please allow time for us to complete the survey and write the report. We assign homesite surveys as they come in as complete requests. Please note that most homesite surveys are done by the students in our training program. This allows us to charge a little less than other offices but keep in mind that they also have classes and homework in addition to your homesite. Where are you located? We are located on the Northern Arizona University Campus in the Ralph M. Bilby Research Center (Bldg. 52). The Bilby Research Center is a dome building like the Walkup Sky Dome but our building is much smaller. The easiest way is, from Target, enter the campus on University Drive. At the first stop light take a right and proceed up the hill. At the crest of the hill on the left is a bus stop. Turn left after the bus stop, on Runke, and keep going until you see the dome on the right side. Click here for a map of south and central campus.
