to NAU's
National Youth Sports Program
The National Youth Sports Program is a five-week summer program that
combines sports instruction with the teaching of vital life skills
such as health, nutrition, drug and alcohol prevention, conflict
resolution, career education, and community service. Expert
instruction is provided to participants before engaging in the
numerous sports activities, including swimming, volleyball, track and
field, tennis, speedball, softball, and basketball. Participants
are expected to learn sportsmanship and how to work with one another
within the framework of the summer sports camp.
Who? Children between the ages of 10-16 (must be 10 by August
31, 2005). There are no exceptions to the age policy.
Cost? Free! A current physical exam must be conducted by
March 30 or less (using the NYSP physical form). This physical
and a signed application are required to participate. Note that NYSP will provide a physical day in May - those covered by AHCCS or
Indian Health Services must see their provider for their physical.
What is provided?
