WELCOME!

Welcome to the Northern Arizona University (NAU) Police Department's web site. As you travel through our web site, you will have the opportunity to learn about the police department: our mission to further the educational mission of Northern Arizona University; our philosophy of problem solving through community policing partnerships; and services such as safety and educational programs and fingerprinting. This web site also provides an easy way to share your thoughts and concerns on public safety issues with us.

As a full service university police department we have the same responsibilities and authority as municipal, county or state law enforcement agencies. While responding to and preventing crime, and enforcing the laws are essential to providing a safe working, learning and living environment, policing is as much about education as it is enforcement. We offer a variety of programs that support our dedication to working closely with our community.

The men and women of NAU Police Department are committed to serving our community with integrity, sensitivity and professionalism. Since 1995 the NAU Police Department has been the only CALEA accredited police agency in northern Arizona. We are proud that we were the sixth police department in Arizona and the ninth university police department in the United States to achieve this status.

Thank you for visiting the NAU Police Department web site. We look forward to your questions, comments and suggestions.
