MyNAU is your personalized view to NAU on the web. If you are a new user to MyNAU, take a little time to learn how to really make it fit your needs:

Known Issues

• You need to enable JavaScript for your browser. How to Enable JavaScript explains this.
• You also need to enable Cookies for your browser. How to Enable Cookies explains this.
• When naming tabs in MyNAU, do not use apostrophes; it does not interpret them well.
• Firefox may randomly render a blank page.  The content should appear if you reload the page.  It appears that the cause is due to the add-on Firebug.  If you unistall Firebug, the problem should go away.
• A "Page Not Found" error sometimes occurs when using the PortalMail channel's "Compose" function in Internet Explorer. See the PortalMail Compose Bug Workaround to fix this problem.

Logging In and the Importance of Logging Out

You only have to log in once to access a variety of NAU web sites that require authentication, thanks to Central Authentication Service (CAS). However,  logging out of MyNAU will NOT log you out of all NAU web sites! If you are at a public computer (in a computer lab, a library, a cyber-cafe, etc.) or even at a home computer that family members or roommates use, always be safe and secure:

• Log out.
• Windows: Close all web browser windows or use menu command  File->Exit  to close all browser windows before you leave the computer.
• Macintosh: Exit the browser using  -Q  or menu command  File->Quit  before you leave the computer. Simply closing the browser windows does not quit the program.

This will completely log you out of CAS. If you forget to completely log out, your personal information is vulnerable and could be altered or deleted without your knowledge.

However, visiting other sites does not break your login to MyNAU or to CAS. You can still return to MyNAU from anywhere you surf.

To log out of MyNAU only, but retain access to other sites:

• Click "Log Out" at the top right-hand corner of MyNAU. You will be returned to the guest page.
• At this point, if you choose to log in to NyNAU again or to access other NAU CAS-protected web sites, you will not be required to enter your user ID or password again.

To completely log out of CAS and protect your personal information, remember:

• Log out.
• Windows: Close all web browser windows or use menu command  File->Exit  to close them all before you leave the computer.
• Macintosh: Exit the browser using  -Q  or menu command  File->Quit  before you leave the computer.
