| Introduction | Logging In | Moving Around | Page Layout | Tabs | Adding Content | Changing Your Skin |
Now that you know how to log in to MyNAU, let's take a look at what you'll see after you log in.
Directly below the top banner area is a strip of tab names that represent different pages of information. Clicking on a tab name will take you to that page. The name of the tab that you are currently reading will display with a different background color to indicate it as the "active" tab. In the example below, the Help tab is the active tab.

Everybody starts out with the same set of tabs in the same positions:
You can rearrange the tabs, change what's on them, and even add your own tabs. The Tabs lesson in this tutorial discusses how to customize your tabs.
The channels are the boxes of information on each of the tabbed pages. A channel can contain anything from a single image link (for example, Flagstaff Events or MovieFone on the Community tab), to a list of links (Student Services or Faculty/Staff Links on the Services tab), to a complete web tool that lets you accomplish some task (PortalMail for reading and sending email, Directory Services to search for NAU people and departments, etc.).

In the upper right-hand corner of each channel are buttons that control the channel's appearance.
FOCUS puts the
channel in "full screen" mode; it will take up the entire MyNAU page. Click the "Return to Tabs"
link to return to normal view.
MINIMIZE
collapses the channel so that only the title and control buttons are visible.
MAXIMIZE
expands a minimized channel to display its content
DETACH opens
the channel in a new browser window. This allows you to print a channel's contents.
REMOVE deletes
the channel from your MyNAU layout. The channel will no longer display until you subscribe to it again.
(Some channels are required and cannot be removed.)
In addition to these buttons, there may be other buttons to add functionality to a channel.
HELP will display
help information about the channel.
EDIT allows
you to change settings for the channel.
ABOUT will display
additional information about the channel.
