Haeger discusses scenarios in light of impending budget cuts
The university must prepare for a culture shift of immense proportions as it braces for another round of funding cuts from the state, NAU President John Haeger said during a forum on Jan. 25. “Dependence on the state is over in a sense,” he said. “What we need to be looking at is how we are going to run a high-quality university in the future with the state being a minority partner.” Read More.

Budget web site gets update in light of continued cuts
The NAU Budget Info website was created two years ago to address budget issues that were impacting the university. It included news, communications from the president and a page for comments and questions and answers.
The economic environment continues to worsen, and the governor has recommended another budget reduction to NAU, this one nearly $26 million.
As a result, the site has been updated and will continue to post relevant news articles and communications.
