 McConnell
Hall, the largest hall on campus, houses approximately 600 students.
McConnell is a co-educational, traditional-style hall. The hall
is surrounded by pine trees and is located on South Campus.
McConnell is one of the four Freshmen Connections
residence halls and houses the Outdoor Recreation
Learning Community.
Rooms are well-lit and contain moveable desks and dressers. Set up for academic success, there is a computer lab on the 4th floor, the Resource Center with academic tutoring on the third floor, and study lounges throughout the building. Living in McConnell Hall also offers residents the opportunity to take advantage of our well-equipped exercise room and full-size kitchen. The 24-hour Front Desk offers many games, tools, vacuums, and other equipment that can be checked out with a student ID. McConnell residents may also contract for a single room (paid vacancy) at the reduced rate of an additional one-quarter of the total room rate for the year. While the newly renovated facilities in McConnell are outstanding, it is the dynamic and energetic staff and students that make McConnell a special place to live. Living in McConnell Hall offers students many opportunities to take part in the exciting educational and social programs offered each year by resident assistants and hall government. Residents are encouraged to get involved from the moment they walk in the door. Each student is invited to participate in the hall government, intramurals, and wing programs. McConnell Hall was recognized as Hall of the Year in 2001/2002 and Hall for the Fall in 2002. Located away from the major campus roads, McConnell is exposed to little outside noise. Neighboring the newest hall, Pine Ridge Village, the hall is extremely close to the Walkup Skydome, the DuBois Center, many south campus academic buildings, and the Frisbee Disc Golf Course. The Mountain Campus Transit system provides the hall with shuttle transportation to Central and North Campuses every 5 minutes.
