| This major is structured to broaden students' understanding of the world today by focusing on comparative and international issues. It consists of courses in Political Science and courses in other fields, such as Anthropology, Economics, Geography, History, Humanities, and Religion. Having a grasp of worldwide interdependence is vital for diplomatic relations, international business, and in making decisions affecting the future of the nation. It also involves learning a foreign language, which is crucial in pursuing employment opportunities internationally. |
| As an extended major, it requires 54 hours of coursework, consisting of an 18-unit cross-disciplinary core of required courses, a 15-unit upper-division POS component (which includes the junior writing and senior capstone requirements), a 15-unit elective component made up of courses from other disciplines, and a 6-unit upper-division foreign language requirement. It does NOT require a minor. |
