Arizonans Call for State to Support Teen Moms   Almost three out of four Arizonans feel the state should be required to provide health care for the children of teenage mothers, and 53% said that the state should also provide health care for the teenage mothers themselves.   12/12/1997
Arizonans Want to Get Tough on Juvenile Criminals   Although about half of those surveyed in a recent poll stated that they were unfamiliar with the new “get tough” juvenile law, over three-quarters of those asked do support prosecuting teens as adults for violent crimes.   12/9/1997
Arizonans say No to Abstinence-only Sex Ed   Eighty percent of Arizona residents surveyed disagree with state funded abstinence-only sex education. “The results of this survey present very strong evidence that the State Legislature did not represent the population when it appropriated funds for sex education that teaches only abstinence.”   12/9/1997
Arizonans Unfamiliar With New Welfare Program   Over three-fourths of adults in Arizona have not heard about Arizonas new welfare reform program EMPOWER. Most residents of the state, however, approve of EMPOWERs major reforms.   4/21/1997
Fewer Report Being Victimized by Crime   A recent survey found that fear of rising crime is unwarranted for some offenses. In addition, large majorities of Arizonans support reducing crime through education and prevention programs.   3/31/1997
Mass Transit at Grand Canyon   Arizonans strongly prefer replacing automobile traffic with mass transit in Grand Canyon National Park. Additionally, the survey found a strong majority of Arizonans to be supportive of fee increases recently instituted at Grand Canyon National Park.   3/6/1997
