Crime Rates Steady Over Past Two Years in Arizona   Arizonans report that crime is increasing in their neighborhoods. Victimization rates remained the same as in past years. Arizonans prefer education and prevention programs as the best defense against crime.   10/18/2001
How are Public Officials Doing?   Among the three top statewide office-holders Janet Napolitano has the highest approval rating in Arizona. Fifty-five percent of Arizonans approve of the job Ms. Napolitano is doing. Jane Hull has a 44 percent approval rating in the state and Betsey Bayless has a 39 percent approval rating.   10/9/2001
On-Board With Anti-Terrorism Efforts   In the wake of the September 11 attacks, Arizonans are rallying together to oppose terrorism. A recent survey of the Arizona public shows 86 percent of respondents approve of the job George W. Bush is doing as President and 92 percent approve of the President’s efforts to fight terrorism.   10/4/2001
Many Think Racial Profiling is Widespread   Arizonans disapprove of the practice of racial profiling, even though 45 percent of people in the state believe the practice of ‘racial profiling’ is widespread. More than one of every four people of color in Arizona believe they have been stopped by the police because of their race or ethnicity.   3/20/2001
Arizona Requires Students to Pass AIMS Test   Arizonans support requiring public school students to pass the statewide AIMS test before graduating high school. The public believes a mandatory performance-based examination such as AIMS will encourage students to pay more attention in school and to study harder.   3/14/2001
