Course Description:
This course is designed to provide tribal air quality professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to conduct
PEP audits for PM2.5 monitoring and NPAP through-the-probe audits for gaseous pollutant monitoring. The course will
focus on hands-on exercises to simulate actual audit situations and relies heavily on the participation of the
attendees.
At the end of the course, participants will be tested; those who score 90% or greater will be certified by EPA’s
Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards (OAQPS). Once certified, these tribal environmental professionals will
be able to conduct audits which meet AQS requirements for various reporting agencies (Tribal, Local and State).
Preference will be given to those who are actively monitoring for particulate matter (PM) or gaseous criteria
pollutants (O3, NOx, SOx, CO).
