Women's and Gender Studies
Visiting Faculty


Visiting scholars from around the world are invited to come to
the Women’s and Gender Studies Program at Northern Arizona University to
pursue their research agendas. NAU is located in Flagstaff, Arizona, a border

town to the Navajo and Hopi reservations, 27 miles from Sedona’s Red Rocks and 80 miles from the Grand Canyon.

Flagstaff, designated as the World’s First International Dark-Sky City, is also home to Lowell Observatory, the US Naval Observatory’s Flagstaff Station, NAU’s Atmospheric Research Observatory,the national Undergraduate Research Observatory and Arizona State University’s Braeside Observatory.


Visiting scholars have access to office space, Internet and telephone
and will also receive library access. We are also happy to sponsor
a public lecture on a topic of the scholar’s choice.


There is no monetary funding associated with being a
Visiting Scholar to NAU’s Women’s Studies Program.
