     The Professional Communications Group (PCG) at Northern Arizona University offers a variety of proven, cost-effective solutions to meet your communications needs. Leaders in the fields of written and oral communication deliver all of PCG’s programs and services. 
     In today’s dynamic business climate, PCG’s programs help you maximize employee effectiveness, and develop a more skilled and valuable workforce. Participants leave every workshop with concrete strategies and specific, proven writing and speaking techniques they can take back and use on the job the very next day—and beyond. 

Communications Training Workshops
     PCG’s workshops are highly interactive, hands-on professional communications training, tailored to the needs of participants, and offered at convenient and flexible locations throughout the state. Each participant receives an NAU certificate of completion and earned professional development hours.  Workshop topics include:

• Writing reports for success

• Effective team writing

• Writing memos, letters, and email that get results

• Business writing to meet organizational goals

• Professional communication (oral and written) to win customers

Customized Communications Training
     PCG understands the relationship between skilled communication and your company’s success. We also understand that each company’s communication circumstances and needs are unique. Thus, we customize all our programs to respond to the specific communication context, conditions, and needs of your company and your employees. We work with individuals and groups of employees to help them: 

• Write, speak, and listen more effectively

• Better understand communication tasks

• See connections between communication tasks and company goals

• Practice continuously improving communication skills

• Determine when to employ written, oral, and visual communication.

Our training sessions, courses, and seminars feature in-person, distance-delivered (WebCT, Satellite, or Interactive Television), and hybrid instruction. Additionally, PCG works with you to select the right option from continuing education, credit or non-credit courses, certification, licenses, and train-the-trainer packages. We can come to your site, or we can produce workshops at a neutral site away from the everyday demands of the normal work environment.
